The novelty of the pHYBi concept is reflected in the following aspects:

pHYBi uses endophytic fungi, plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPBs) and mycorrhizae to improve the plant growth and health, enhancing phytoremediation and generating more lignocellulosic biomass.

pHYBi proposes a novel hybrid concept named nanobiophytoremediation, using Fe- or C-based nanoparticles, the reintroduction of autochthonous microorganisms (bioaugmentation) into the soil, and the phytoextraction action of trees.
